On Friday 11th July, promising filly Satin Diva broke her maiden in dominant fashion at Moe, going around as a short-priced favourite and justifying the hype. Trained by Ciaron Maher, she showed professionalism beyond her experience, cruising to victory and becoming the first winner in Slade’s iconic Ladies Pink Silks — a special milestone in more ways than one.

Fast forward to Wednesday 16th July, and her big brother Epic Proportions flew the flag in Sydney, taking out a metro race at Randwick, again under the care of trainer Ciaron Maher. His determined win in city company capped off a sensational few days for their ownership teams and reaffirmed the promise that was evident from day one. Better Than Ready x Commanding Epic, Maher and Slade Bloodstock is a powerful combination.

Both horses are Better Than Ready out of Commanding Epic, a pairing that has now produced not just one, but two Slade winners in under a week. A rare feat, and one that speaks to the power of pedigree, placement, and patient management.
